The team is paying tribute to the franchise’s origins by sporting throwback Whalers sweaters for their game against the New Jersey Devils tonight in Raleigh. The original mascot, Pucky the Whale, is confirmed to be in attendance. In 1972, New England Whalers made their debut as part of the World Hockey Association.
